What Trusting the Universe Really Means - Workshop with Gregg Levoy

Registration is closed for this event
Author, Speaker Gregg Levoy returns to Unity of The Blue Ridge on Sunday, October 31st. He will present an in-person afternoon workshop: "What Trusting the Universe Really Means."

These tumultuous times—from pandemic to political unrest—could be seen as an unfolding process that requires you to “trust the universe.” But what exactly does that mean? What aspects of the universe are you trusting when you say you trust it, and is it a skill you can build?

On one hand, this spiritual adage may trigger your skepticism, and on the other it has a noble lineage—have faith, trust the process, let go and let God, don't push the river, Thy will be done.

In this service and follow-up hands-on 2-hour workshop—and through self-reflective questions and sharing—you'll explore what “trust the universe” really means for you, how to build acts of trust into your life, whether you believe the universe is a benevolent place or not, and why trusting the universe may ultimately depend on staying in conversation with it.

Gregg Levoy, author of Callings: Finding and Following An Authentic Life (Random House)—rated among the "Top 20 Career Publications" by the Workforce Information Group—and Vital Signs: The Nature and Nurture of Passion (Penguin), is the former “behavioral specialist” at USA Today and a regular blogger for Psychology Today.

He has presented at Microsoft, Smithsonian Institution, Environmental Protection Agency, National Conference on Positive Aging, American Counseling Association, National Career Development Association, and others, and has appeared on ABC-TV, CNN, NPR and PBS.

A former adjunct professor of journalism at the University of New Mexico, former columnist and reporter for USA Today and the Cincinnati Enquirer, he has written for the New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, Omni, Psychology Today, Christian Science Monitor, Reader’s Digest, and many others, as well as for corporate, promotional and television projects.
