Patty Grant-Edgemon, LCSW, CSAC is passionate strong and committed to the healing of her people across the land.

Patty is an enrolled member of the Eastern Band Cherokee Indians located in Cherokee, NC.  Patty grew up in Cherokee and graduated from Cherokee high school, Patty received her BA from Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma and a master’s in social work from Washington University n St. |Louis. Patty retired in October 2017 from the /Cherokee |Indian |Hospital as a Behavioral Health Consultant I the primary care dept. Before becoming the first BHC she was the manager of Analenisgi (mental health/substance abuse program) for seven years, Patty worked as a mental health/substance abuse therapist working primarily with Native adolescents, adult men, and families in Cherokee and in |Oklahoma for the past 28 years.  Patty is one of the co-founders for Indians in Sobriety Campout and the Native American AA Convention for 15 years.  She was coordinator for “Journey to Forgiveness” in 2012.

She was a member of the Cherokee Indian Hospital Substance Abuse Task force, when they received the 2012 |IHS |National Behavioral |Health Achievement Award in the area of Community Mobilization in Substance Abuse prevention.  The team developed a multidisciplinary outpatient based opioid treatment program including motivational change techniques and community elders as advisors.
