About the book:
- The core idea is that spirituality/mysticism does not require special places (churches, temples, ashrams), ordained clergy, or religious ritual—though for some people those are meaningful. What matters is awakening an inner capacity to experience life as sacred.
- Everyday moments from mundane tasks, acts of kindness, simple relationships, being in nature can become portals to the divine, if one pays attention.
- The book is both memoir and teaching: Starr shares parts of her own life (including grief, loss, growing up with spiritual searching) interwoven with teachings from mystics across time (e.g. Julian of Norwich, Ram Dass).
